Gertrude Street runs on shift work: tradies and nurses from the Peter Mac end before 8am, gallery and studio people mid-morning, then the Brunswick Street crowd drifting east for a late lunch. The housing is terraces and the Atherton Gardens towers within the same few hundred metres, which is why the menu has a $7 egg roll on it as well as a $26 grain bowl.
